TreeTrails Adventures provides climbing and ziplining excitement for fun-seekers ages 4 and up. The park includes TreeTrails Adventure Park for ages 7 to Adult and KidTrails Adventure Park for climbers ages 4 – 7.
TreeTrails Adventure Park (our Main Park) suspends over about 9 acres of wooded property. After an equipment briefing, guests ages 7 to adult climb up to one of two main tree platforms where they can choose from 5 different trails that are color coded according to the level of challenge they offer for beginners to experts. Our easiest two trails are Yellow, and our intermediate trail is Green. Our Blue and Black trails are for experienced climbers. These trails consist of 70 challenges made of rope, cable and wood. Challenges include quirky bridges, ladders, rolling events and 18 zip lines. The easiest trails are about 12 feet above the ground and the most challenging trails are up to 55 feet high.
KidTrails Adventure Park is a climbing area like our signature park but built to scale for climbers ages 4 – 7. It includes two trails with 24 challenges for kids to do again and again. In KidTrails, routes are just a few feet above the ground, allowing pint-sized thrill-seekers a chance to experience the joy of physical accomplishment while a guardian walks beside them. (Supervision by an adult age 18+ is required, at a ratio of 1 adult for every 2 children.)
We are located just off I-95 in Mystic, CT. Take the Allyn Street Exit (Exit 89) to reach our location at 715 Noank Ledyard Road. More information can be found on our Your Visit page.
TreeTrails Adventures is open for general admission year-round, and hours are adjusted seasonally. For updated hours, check our Your Visit page or contact our team.

We strongly recommend reserving General Admission Tickets online. Making advance reservations can save you money and expedite check in when you arrive at the park. When you make an online reservation, you’ll receive a confirmation email and a link to an online waiver that can be completed before you arrive. These waivers link to your account for quick check-in. Guests who walk in will be scheduled for the next available start time. Sometimes there is a wait.
After checking in, guests should expect to spend 20 to 40 minutes preparing, depending upon your group size. Every adventure begins with harnessing, an equipment briefing, and time to practice with our state-of-the-art climbing gear. The Main Park and KidTrails are both 2-hour climbs. In the Main Park, a guest climbs through the trees at his or her pace and each of our 5 trails may require 15-30 minutes to complete. Upon completion of one trail, a climber returns to one of the main tree platforms to repeat the same trail or select another trail, continuing for the duration of their timed ticket. Each guest decides how much of their time they use for climbing. Most want to climb every minute they can!
Prices depend upon the attraction you choose and the time of day you’d like to climb. You can view our full pricing guide HERE.

We provide a harness and climbing gear with the purchase of your climb. Gloves are recommended but not required. You can bring gloves that are suitable for climbing and completely cover your hands. Don’t worry if you forget your gloves. We sell basic gloves for $6+ tax as well as souvenir gloves that are quite the thing!
All climbers wear state-of-the-art harnesses and climbing equipment that meets the highest industry standards. Climbing equipment employs “double-clipped-on” technology designed to keep the climber continuously connected to a secure cable throughout their time in the trees. Climbers receive an equipment briefing and opportunities to practice before climbing into treetops. Course staff members monitor climbers while they are on aerial trails. These monitors are nearby on the ground to offer encouragement, advice, or assistance as needed.
TreeTrails Adventures operates in accordance with the standards of the ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology). The standards are among the most stringent ropes course safety standards in the world.
Wear well-fitting clothing that won’t hang loose or get tangled in cables or ropes. Please tie back long hair and remove all jewelry. Sneakers or hiking shoes are recommended. Footwear must cover your whole foot from toe to heel. We do not allow climbers to wear flip-flops, sandals or Crocs.
KidTrails is ideal for ages 4 – 7 and our and the Main Park is for climbers ages 7 through adult. In the Main Park age restrictions do apply to our more difficult trails that are built for the stride and reach of older and taller climbers. This table provides information about trail age recommendations in the Main Park.
Supervised: An adult (18+) guiding children (1 – 10 children) from the park ground
Accompanied: An adult (18+) must accompany children on the course (2 children/adult max)
SOLO: Can climb without an adult present
Guests must weigh more than 45 pounds and less than 265 pounds to climb and zip in the Main Park. Additionally, all guests must fit into harnesses provided in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. Also, all climbers on these attractions must be able to reach 65 inches so they can effectively access safety-related clip-in points and zip line landing ramps throughout the courses.
Trails in the Main Park are color-coded to make it easy to choose a climb that provides the level of challenge you seek. Beginners develop their confidence and climbing skills on our 2 Yellow trails. Intermediate climbers enjoy the challenge of our Green trail. Our most athletic climbers enjoy the challenge of our Blue and Black Diamond trails. Our easiest trails are about 12 feet above the forest floor and our most difficult trails reach up to 55 feet. When progressing from easier to more difficult trails, climbers discover increasing demands for balance, stamina, strength and problem-solving.
Most people who have an active lifestyle and are in good health should not have much difficulty completing many trails in the Main Park. Climbers proceed at their own pace and are welcome to take periodic breaks. Remember, climbers can choose trails within their comfort levels. If you are concerned a medical condition may impact your safety, please ask your doctor for guidance.
All participants receive a course and equipment briefing and time to practice before climbing, so lessons are not required. The Main Park is intentionally designed for a self-guided adventure. We do, however, have a limited number of guides for guests who may want them for the following reasons:
- Guides are fun companions for children on trails who are being supervised by parents on the ground,
- Guides can accompany children who need an adult climber with them to explore our more challenging trails,
- Guides provide climbers of all ages added peace-of-mind as they stretch their comfort with climbing at height, and
- Guides can provide tips and tricks for taking on challenges throughout the park.
Guides can be added to your reservation in advance and may be added the day of your reservation subject to availability. Please contact our team to learn more about hiring a guide for your reserved climb.

When inclement weather arrives, our team attempts to contact you to explore options. TreeTrails Adventures responds much like a golf course or a swimming pool facility. Sometimes we can avoid storms by changing your start time or by moving your party to a different day. The park typically remains open during spotty or light rain, but climbing is suspended in the event of thunder, lightning, or damaging winds. If you have questions about inclement weather, contact our team.
